Tilite ZRA

The Verdict

AccessYourLife | January 19, 2026 | Manual Wheelchair
Photo of a person, with brown curly hair, using a self-propelling 'Tilite ZRA' titanium wheelchair on a countryside path. A large backpack is hung on the back of the wheelchair, below which a 'SmartDrive' power assist unit connected to the rear of the wheelchair can be seen. In the background a wire fence, fencing off a field in which a number of sheep, can be seen, while a small black dog on a leash walks just behind and to the left of the wheelchair user, in the foreground.

Personal Opinion:
Due to frequent fractures and severe rotator cuff damage, I was struggling to use my NHS chair and couldn’t get anything more suitable from them. Thankfully, I was able to get my Tilite with a SmartDrive powerassist attachment through a condition specific charity. With everything made to measure from high quality materials, the chair is manoeuvrable and comfortable with a Jay Cushion. I opted for flip down push handles and Surge rims which are oval giving a more comfortable and efficient grip. With the powerassist I’ve regained the ability to get out and about and go further afield. In the 2 years I’ve had the Tilite, I’ve added a bottle carrier (from a cycle shop), cycle lights and a Quokka Bag so my phone etc is always within arms reach. While there are lots of different wheelchairs out there, most of which I tried before deciding on the Tilite, the Tilite works best for me.
