My Triride has given me so much freedom. I love it and it makes me want to go out.
I bought the genuine Triride basket as an accessory, and it was worth every penny.
A feature I love is that it has cruise control and maintains a steady pace even when going downhill.
I easily get on the bus with it attached to my frame, but I’ve never had any issues with drivers saying you need a pass or anything, as I can just take it off. It can be easily detached if I need to get on a bus, park in a small area, make room for a pushchair, etc.
The dogs love their long walks on this, especially when we can go fast and they get to run alongside.
It can be a bit awkward to get in the car on your own, but once you get the technique right, it’s fine. I find the easiest way is to remove the basket, take out the battery, and remove the frame, making it as light as possible.
Traction can be an issue on hills, so adding extra weight at the front (such as a 5L bottle of water in the basket or ankle weights on the forks) and shifting your seat weight by leaning forward over the handlebars is usually enough to tackle this. If not, reversing slowly and using cruise control can be useful when going up inclines.
I sometimes wish I’d gone for a bigger, more powerful model, as I mainly use it for off-road fields, beaches, etc, so I feel I’d benefit from a larger front wheel. However, that’s not to say this isn’t perfectly adequate.
I would also go for the double battery option if I were buying new, as the faster you go, the more hills you encounter, and the more stop-and-start you do, the more the battery drains.
I certainly wouldn’t be without it! :)
