Wheelchair bike-style power attachment in custom colour.
This is a fantastic piece of equipment! Since my Triride arrived, I have been able to go to the beach, join my friends on dog walks, visit the supermarket independently, explore local nature reserves with my partner, and even go on a trip to Cornwall! I no longer need to be pushed everywhere, and I have regained my independence.
I chose the following features:
– off-road tyre
– eco drive
– custom colour (duck egg blue)
– throttle
– uncapped speed
I am now able to tackle hills, mud, wet grass, gravel, and compact sand. I will admit it took me a few attempts (and calls to the supplier, Celtic Therapy & Rehab) to figure out how to handle these different surfaces, but now that I’ve got it, I’ve been all over! There is definitely a knack to doing this – sitting forward, turning the throttle gently, off-road tyres on the chair, etc. Braking is straightforward, as is changing gears.
Celtic Therapy & Rehab were able to support me in learning how to use the Triride, ensuring the setup was correct by making sure my caster wheels were high enough off the floor, and were just generally incredibly helpful. They even worked out a way for me to attach my lovely basket to the front!
It is quite heavy, so I chose to go without the lateral stand, which can help to take some of the weight, but going without it allows for easier transport in my vehicle. However, I am now able to attach and detach it independently by lining it up and reversing it into the brackets on my wheelchair.
