Personal Opinion:
This device has been life-changing it has enabled me to go to college independently, go up hills, walk the dog etc. The product attaches to the back of the Wheelchair, on a rigid chair it attaches to the bar between the wheels using a clamp and on folding chairs, the product attaches to a bar that then slots between the two wheels. To work the SmartDrive, you double-tap the watch on your Wheels, to lock in the speed single tap, double-tap to stop. The SmartDrive itself lasts a very long time, I have gone to Alton Towers and it has lasted me the entire day and I have still had charge left.

For reference, I am a full time Wheelchair User and I am paralysed chest down

Pros –

– Easy to use
– Goes up to 12 mph
– SmartDrive has a 7-mile radius and lasts a long time
– Very reactive, it stops and stars almost instantly
– SmartDrive charges quickly
– The watch is large and has good accessibility features
– Interchangeable speed, reactivity

Cons –

– The watch that controls the SmartDrive is very slow and has very poor battery life, however, I have learnt that if I turn the watch off when I am not using it and silence all notifications it lasts longer. Alternatively, you can get the switches instead, secured to your Wheelchair.

– It is quite heavy to carry and put on
