The Verdict

Manual wheelchair with matte black rigid frame, blue accents, folding backrest, and quick-release Spinergy wheels.

My wheelchair is lightweight and easy to manoeuvre in tight spaces. It doesn’t collapse, although the backrest folds down and the rear wheels can be removed, so it easily fits into the car.

The frame is indented to create cleaner lines in the chair’s appearance. There is a handy pocket in the backrest, one zipped and one open. The footrest height is adjustable depending on your needs. The side guards have an integrated mudguard, which protects my coat from rain or mud. I wish, though, the guards were higher instead of so close to the wheel.

I have purchased a water bottle holder that attaches to the frame. I use a FreeWheel attachment that fits my footrest with ease, and a Smartdrive that fits on the H-bar and works easily with my chair. I have also adapted the push-rims with a rubber cover to allow easier pushing. It only tips when a heavy bag is on my backrest.

Using this wheelchair has enabled me to push independently, go out into the world, and explore different environments. Before having this chair, I wasn’t able to get around independently and relied on others for assistance. Without it, I wouldn’t be able to go for ‘walks’ (rolls) and visit National Trust properties. People always comment on how nice my chair looks, and I don’t think I would use another brand in the future.
