A carry-on-sized suitcase that attaches to the back of a wheelchair. It is black with red accents. It has Omni wheels, which allow it to roll in any direction. Airport staff love it.
The bag itself holds a great deal. The Compact bag can also piggy-back on the full-size bag or be used with the backpack, so there are lots of options if you own all three. With it, I can either keep my lap free (yay!) or carry an additional bag on my lap. A non-advertised perk – normally I get bumped into by others in crowded airports because they don’t realise I’m there, or they stop suddenly in front of me. The wheels make a bit of noise (comparable to any suitcase), so now they can hear me coming and get out of my way! Love it!
I could see that if you have trouble with internal rotation of your shoulders, it might be hard to clip on. It’s a little pricey, but it’s custom-made for wheelchair users, and they do have to keep their business running, so I understand. There is some kind of sale each year, so keep an eye out for that.
To attach the bag to my chair, I just place the adapter, which is a flat plate with a bar that sits under my cushion and pokes out the back. I have to partially detach the fabric “modesty panel” on my chair, but it still covers me. The suitcase clips onto this bar. It took me a bit of practice to learn how much force and at what angle I needed to clip it on, but I’m getting faster.
