Kymco Sterling Pearl

The Verdict

AccessYourLife | December 8, 2025 | Mobility Scooter
Photo of a woman using a 'Kymco Sterling Pearl' mobility scooter, on a rocky dirt path surrounded by large trees. The scooter is spacious enough to allow the woman to hold a small child on her while still having space to use the scooter, with the 'Sterling' branding visibly displayed in the centre of the scooters steering handles, directly in front of the young child.

Scooter Description:
A four-wheeled scooter with a red and black frame. It is very easy to dismantle and goes into five parts. It also features adjustable handlebars that can be locked into position, a padded swivel seat with flip armrests, and a basket for extra storage. It uses two 12-volt, 21-amp batteries and can be charged externally.

Battery Life:
On a good 24-hour charge, it lasts a few days depending on where I’m going and what I’m doing.

Personal Opinion:
When looking for a scooter, my main priorities were the speed and how far it could travel. I honestly didn’t know anything about medical devices, so when it came to choosing one, all I knew was that I wanted something reliable that would allow me to get out a bit longer.

The Sterling Pearl has done exactly that and was a perfect choice for my needs and lifestyle. It suited me perfectly, as I mainly use it when visiting local shopping centres or taking my dogs out. It was also the ideal device to help me regain some confidence, because it is pretty hard to accept when you suddenly become disabled at the age of 17.

The basket comes in super handy when out and about, and the flip-up armrests make it easier to get on and off the scooter, especially for people who only have the use of their upper body strength. It is the perfect scooter to take with you on public transport or in a car, as it can be quickly and easily dismantled and stowed.

With a full charge, this scooter can travel up to 15 miles at a speed of 4mph, and for me… that was great! The batteries recharge quite quickly, and I love that you can charge them off the scooter, as it means I can leave my scooter outside for easy access and bring the battery into the living room or bedroom for charging.

I have loved being able to regain my freedom and some independence. I used to depend on a manual wheelchair, which was difficult due to my tremors and dodgy grip. So I would highly recommend the Sterling Pearl!
