The Verdict

A specialist three-wheel buggy with large air-filled wheels designed for rough terrain. It features a navy blue and silver frame, a canvas seat, and a backrest that reclines, along with a fixed front wheel, an adjustable height footrest, and a height-adjustable five-point harness. It includes a large basket underneath, a hood, and comes with a clear rain cover. The buggy can be folded (it hinges halfway up the frame, with a folding mechanism similar to Baby Jogger toddler buggies), and the wheels can be easily removed for transportation. It’s not suitable for travelling in a vehicle.

My daughter has a day to day wheelchair for school and urban/suburban situations, but we love being outdoors and going on walks. We found her regular chair limited where we could go, so this has been a great second chair for us. It’s very easy to push, although the fixed front wheel takes a bit of getting used to. It has given us the opportunity to explore more places, and we have used it on grass, woodland walks, gravel, and firm sand.

It is a large chair, though, so it’s not suitable for everyday use. Not a great deal wider than my daughter’s regular wheelchair, but much longer and significantly less manoeuvrable in a small space.

The basic chair is much the same as an off-road toddler buggy, but larger in size. We have not needed to make any adjustments, but it is possible to add some postural support inserts. We have had the chair since my daughter was 6 years old, and she’s now 8 years old (of average height), with plenty of room to grow still. The recommended age range is from about 5 to 10 years old.

There are other similar chairs on the market that offer additional features like hitching up to a bike, but this one is simply a pushchair (which is all we needed) which is reflected in the price comparison.
