Lapstacker

The Verdict

AccessYourLife | December 8, 2025 | Wheelchair Attachment
Photo of a woman using a self-propelling wheelchair with 'Lapstacker' retractable straps connected to the wheelchair, to secure in place a shopping basket full of shopping on her lap, leaving of hands free to use the push rims on her wheelchair. A 'Canine Partners' assistance dog (identified by its signature purple coat), looks at the woman, as its leash is connected to the leg of her wheelchairs footplate.

Attachment Description:
The lapstacker has a set of retractable straps mounted on the wheelchair that can be used to strap items on the user’s lap to prevent them from falling off. When not in use, the lapstacker does not interfere with normal use of the wheelchair. After the initial installation it only takes a few seconds to secure an item onto your lap.

Personal Opinion:
My only regret is not finding this sooner. The amount of stuff that falls off my lap can be extremely frustrating. I needed a solution to transport a tablet or laptop safely, and after a Google search, I found the Lapstacker.

I initially thought I would just use it for that, but it is also so useful for everyday items, especially when shopping with a basket. It feels very secure, and I don’t have to think about where I put each item to balance the weight. With the Lapstacker in place, I can go downhill, over bumps, or drop down a curb without losing items off my lap. I can’t recommend it enough!
