Personal Opinion:
This walker was my first-ever mobility aid, and I am so pleased with it. The entire unit folds and unfolds easily using the strap on the seat, and it locks securely when folded, so I never worry about the walker popping open while lifting it into the car. It is also only 14lbs, which is perfect for me as I have limited strength.
Both the seat and back strap provide a lot more support than most other walkers I’ve tested, and I really like the thickness and cushioning of the back strap, especially when I need to sit for longer periods.
The handles and back strap can easily be adjusted in height with the push of a button on either side, meaning there are no fiddly screws or extra tools required. The under-seat bag stays in place with rubber o-rings that prevent it from sliding when the walker is in use, and it also has handles on either side for when you take it off.
The curb hoppers built into the unit are very useful because my neighbourhood isn’t very accessible, and I can’t imagine using a walker without them now. The wheels are also slightly larger than most, which could be problematic for someone trying to fit the walker into a smaller space, but they hold up really well on rougher terrain, including snow and gravel.
I tested at least 20 other walkers when shopping for my first mobility aid, and the Stella was by far the best. I purchased it from Med Mobility in Alberta, Canada, but it can also be purchased online. No regrets! Highly recommended!
