Quickie Helium

The Verdict

AccessYourLife | January 22, 2026 | Manual Wheelchair
Photo of a woman using a 'Quickie Helium' self-propelling wheelchair, with a 'FreeWheel' attachment connected to the footplate, on a footpath in a park. The woman's scarf and thick black coat, contrast with he blue shorts & sandals, which in conjunction with the the low light, and mist in the far background, suggest this photo was taken very early in the morning on a summer day.

Personal Opinion:
Handles are good with folding when using a backpack and when transported. It is easy to get up kerbs when doing a wheelie. You can use a Freewheel adaptation which makes it easier to go off road which is otherwise difficult. The wheelchair on its own is quite bumpy and you can feel lots of high vibration levels, but the Freewheel helps with that!
