X8 Extreme – Powered Wheelchair

Wheelchair Description:
4×4 all-terrain powerchair that is adapted to suit children and adults. Comes with carer controls, power seat and leg tilt, torso lateral supports, headrest to suit individual user and a base power tilt to balance out the weight when going up or down steep hills. It can comfortably go over thick loose sand, mud, rocks, kerbs, hills and wet slopes.

Battery Life:
8 to 10 miles but less on hills and uneven terrain.

Daughter Has LMNA-Related Congenital Muscular Dystrophy (L-CMD)

Personal Opinion:
My 6 year old daughter loves her hot pink X8. We live in a rural countryside area, so lots of hills, mud, rocks and sand at the nearby beach – all of which it tackles really well. We haven’t tested the battery over a long distance as we only use it to explore our local countryside, but the battery only goes down by 2 green lights after a 2hr journey, or 3 hrs on big hills which will use up all the green lights.

We have a large WAV so we can simply guide the wheels up the ramp, but I’m not sure if it would fit in a small WAV. My daughter says she loves the freedom it gives her to go anywhere with no restrictions, she also loves putting it on the fast speed!
