Personal Opinion:
Hugely beneficial for me and my independence when needed. Especially when popping out with the kids on scooters and my wife walking the dogs. It can go off-road, including grass and uneven ground as the single wheel powered adapter lifts front wheels, making it into a three-wheeler. It has a normal 14’ bike wheel with drum brakes. Excellent design, reasonably lightweight. The turning circle is outstanding, it is very easy to maintain and the parts are easily available. Advice is available from Max Wheelchairs and also TriRide if needed.

There are many different models and you can even customize them now. Although I recommend having a protective carry bag, which is expensive but worth it for transportation. It also comes in great during the holidays and is truly a pleasure to use. There are two ways to attach the device:

Option 1  –  Put brakes on the wheelchair, slide bracket into 2 sided clamp and tighten. Remove header, bolt-on bracket and wheel so you locate the TriRide bracket onto header bolt. Insert header bolt and tighten. Put in reverse and press accelerator slowly so the wheel goes backwards and gradually lifts front wheels of the chair up. Then locate the TriRide bracket and twist locator screw on left until the pin locks in, before tightening the second bolt between knees. MAKE SURE ALL BOLTS ARE TIGHT and you are ready to go!

Option 2  –  Leave bracket attached to TriRide using the stand. Undo side clamps and wheel forward, locate bracket into the clamps to the required length and tighten clamp bolts. Put brakes on, remove the stand and reverse slowly until front wheels on the chair are off the ground. Then locate the TriRide bracket and flick left pin locator and 1/4 turn it to lock the bracket. Tighten bolt between knees. MAKE SURE ALL BOLTS ARE TIGHT and you are ready to go!

The only downside is that it is quite expensive, but I feel it has been worth every penny! Everyone wants to have a go! I think it is a great product for all manual wheelchair users, plus it’s stylish and very modern looking. Although I needed extra weights on the front axle due to having no legs.
