Pride I-Go Plus – Powered Wheelchair

USERS RATING:
(Based on the users needs, lifestyle and preferences.)

Wheelchair Description:
Folding electric wheelchair with a remote controller on the arm that allows you to choose direction etc. It goes roughly 4 mph and the battery should last up to 10 miles but has never managed that far. It weighs approximately 28kg, making it heavy to lift.

Battery Life:
Approximately 2 Hours

Source of Wheelchair

Diagnosis:
Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS) & Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS)

Personal Opinion:
It’s a practical powered wheelchair, as it can fit in a car boot so is good for shopping.

However, the chair itself is not very comfortable to sit in for a prolonged time. It also struggles to navigate curbs and any ‘lips’ to go up. Although it can go across dry mud and uneven ground, you will just feel all of the bumps which is uncomfortable. Finally, the battery does not last very long.
