Personal Opinion:
These wheels are great on rough and uneven terrain. Cobblestone pathways, dropping off curbs, rolling over potholes etc – not a problem! I have even rolled down a small 6-inch drop at speed whilst going downhill and was very surprised how well they handled it.
I’m also planning to test them with a powered wheelchair attachment (Batec) in the future, where I have no doubt they will really shine whilst being though there paces at higher speeds.
They only weigh 1.3kg per wheel and can be used in conjunction with various push rims – I opted for the Gekko style which are awesome! The size and shape and rubber help me massively. No more catching my fingers when trying to slow down on an incline, something I did often with standard rims. Mine are the largest with an 11mm offset, although I believe there is a larger offset option, I just didn’t want to make my chair too wide. They are expensive at £330 a pair, but I think it’s better to buy them if needed. Overall, very happy with my purchase!
