Wheelie Good Mobility

Wheelie Good Mobility was launched in 2008 by Greenwich University graduate Charmaine Kemp and her father Bob. The home business then specialised in recycling used mobility scooters, along with getting them out to the public in a market that was mid-recession and full of unsavoury mobility scooter salesmen. After the launch of their mail-order mobility aid catalogue, including used scooters and more, Charmaine won ‘Young Entrepreneur of the Year’ twice - in 2010, and again in 2012 - with two more business awards to follow until 2014.

In 2014, Wheelie Good Mobility was given a reboot and the mail-order catalogue was discontinued, along with selling mobility aids in general. This is because better things were to come once they became specialists in new and used spare mobility scooter parts, in addition to providing free removals of mobility scooters in the UK.

Fast forward to 2015 and Wheelie Good went global, selling mobility scooter parts worldwide. More members joined the UK team, and with the expansion of the big brands in the USA, Charmaine moved with her husband and baby daughter to Las Vagus, allowing them to establish a live WhatsApp chat that is available 24 hours a day.

“We just wanted customers to be reassured they could get hold of a human, whilst being able to ask questions about fixing their scooter.”

Ensuring they stay true to their UK roots; Wheelie Good Mobility still collects used mobility scooters from people’s homes for free and scraps them. Allowing them to provide parts for up to forty people, as opposed to fixing the scooter and selling it on to one.

“People suffer enough with their disability without having to fork out hundreds to thousands for a new scooter when a used one or a new part will get them back on the road.”
