At the Disability Union, the first union by and for disabled people and carers, we are building a community that gives us a voice and control over our lives and the decisions made about us.

"Our job as Union Reps is to be your champion and your advocate. We listen when they won't. We stick up for you when nobody else will. We fight the battles when you can't." - Lauren Trotman, Union Rep.

A New Era of Disability Activism

Disabled people and their rights have been ignored and trampled on for too long. The Disability Union is the first union for and by disabled people and aims to lead the fight to enhance and protect disabled people’s rights by organising our community and championing our collective strength.

“We know how difficult it can be to live in a world that isn’t built for you. Whether it be workplace discrimination, the complexity of applying for benefits or heightened living costs, society finds endless ways to force adversity onto disabled people. That is why we exist, and it is why we are always looking to offer our members everything they need to live independent lives.” – Joel Jordan, Co-Founder.

Becoming a member of The Disability Union starts at just £4.99 a month. Not only do you become part of the movement to transform disabled rights, but you will be entitled to:

- Free legal consultations on your disability rights

- 1:1 guidance and advice with benefit applications and appeals, such as ESA, PIP, UC and social
care

- Use of the union’s advice-line

- Weekly drop-in support sessions

- Find informal support and make friends through our active and diverse online community and Support Hub

The Disability Union isn’t like the Disabled Peoples’ Organisations and charities that you’ve heard of. The union is funded primarily by members, ensuring that no matter what, their voice remains independent, and their performance is assessed entirely by measure of members’ satisfaction.

“We pride ourselves on our independent voice, which allows us to give the most honest advice and provide the best service to our members.” - George Baker, Co-Founder

Join today and kickstart the first union by and for disabled people, and join the fight to create a world where there is nothing about us, without us.
