Beach – Wheelchair Wheels

Item Description:
Designed to be used on most manual wheelchairs with standard 24-25″ wheels. These FAT wheels are fitted with Schwalbe Crazy Bob tyres and black powder coated pushrims, which collectively enhance grip on rougher terrain. My photo shows just how wide they are when compared with my normal wheels (Schwalbe right run, 1″ wide).

Personal Opinion:
These wheels allowed me to go on the beach for the first time in 9 years. I’ll admit it was still hard work on the loose sand, meaning I couldn’t go for a long distance over that area. But I can still get from the loose sand to the harder stretches when it is low tide, which is easily accessible with these wheels.

They also help when I am using my Triride on rougher terrain, as the larger wheels help with shock absorption making the ride a lot more comfortable.

Swapping between my beach wheels to my normal pair is really easy. You will need different length axle pins as they have different sized axles, but they both work in the same way with quick-release pins. Invictus Active was very helpful when it came to sorting out which axle length I required so they could include it in my order.

I truly didn’t think the beach was accessible to me anymore, but I’m looking forward to many more beach walks with my dog and less pain from our off-road walks in the forest!
