Personal Opinion:
We bought this custom made wheelchair for my elderly mother in September 2019, to enable us to take her on family outings. I am grateful that a local mobility shop put us in touch with a Trekinetic supplier, as my internet searches for all-terrain wheelchairs only indicated options for young, full time wheelchair users. Whereas we needed something that could be used as and when.

It folds down with ease, meaning we could transport it in the boot of my car and take it on holiday. It was the star of the show on a cruise ship last year, as everybody admired the unique design. Its quick and easy folding mechanism also meant we could access “regular” coaches for day excursions. Along with using the lift and remained in situ whilst travelling via public transport. My mother repeatedly commented that the seat was much more comfortable than a standard transit wheelchair even after a full day excursion, which speaks volumes.

We never encountered any difficulties, but we always carried the optional extra safari kit, which holds a spare rear wheel, tube, and pump on a little shelf above the rear wheel. I love how contained everything is, as it saved us from having to carry the repair kit during our travels.

During the lengthy 2020 lockdown, the Trekinetic enabled us to go off the road a lot and avoid crowded pavements/outdoor areas. It coped well with gravel, rough tracks, and grass. Sadly, my mother died recently, aged 93, so we did not get a chance to try it on snow. My only regret is that I did not find this versatile chair earlier, so if you are on the fence about ordering one – do it!
