Trekinetic GTE – Powered Wheelchair

Wheelchair Description:
It’s an off-road electric wheelchair with mountain bike quick-release wheels. It has a light carbon fibre seat with standard foam cushioning, and a retractable footplate for easy transfers. I also chose to add folding handlebars and a “safari kit” which includes a puncture repair kit and a spare rear tyre that attaches to the back (behind the battery box). The wheels can be put at different angles for different terrain, and the seat can also be adjusted to be at different angles to provide better stability off-road stability.

Battery Life:
5 Hours Per Battery (I have 2 so that I can charge one whilst using the other!)

Hypermobile Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (hEDS), Myalgic Encephalomyelitis/Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (M.E/CFS), Automatic Dysfunction & Chronic Widespread Multifocal Pain

Personal Opinion:
I have found the chair to be suitable for all outdoor use and some indoor use. I say only some indoor use because there is a door in my house that it cannot fit through without taking a wheel off. Although most all-terrain chairs can’t be made smaller! It is quite easy for my parents and carers to take apart and put together, although it took some time for them to learn as there are a few steps to it. But over time they got quicker and can easily lift it in the boot of our car with plenty of room for other stuff.
