Hi guys! I hope you're all well and making your way as best you can through this thing called life. I don’t know if any of you will remember - as a trans man, the waiting times for an initial one-to-one appointment at the gender clinic takes more than 3 years to reach. Well, I got my Harry Potter letter welcoming me for an appointment in December 2021 at the Leeds Gender Identity Clinic! When I go, I will be presenting as myself, Adam. I am now a few years into taking testosterone, and a name change later taking me from Miss Mia McDonald to MR Adam McDonald! And don’t forget that “MR” because it cost me £15!
Covid has changed civilization and our lives as we know it, or more than likely will ever know it again. Crazy times, my friends - but that's why it's so important we grab hold of the things most dear to us with both arms, strong. For me, I am hoping for a pretty direct route towards getting top surgery within 2022.
This coming January is also going to be the achievement of one year sober - an achievement I wasn't sure I would ever see if the truth were told! But it's all about transparency for me and seeing where I have come as opposed to where I’ve been. Making this the perfect time for me to leave behind the black shadows that come over me, where they will firmly remain. Each day I'm feeling the chains that were binding me beginning to crumble to dust. Every day is a new day, and I’ve come to realise even the tiniest step forward is better than a big step backwards. Plus as I’ve already said to you all before, none of us is getting out of here alive! We have one life - go and live it!
Love & Light - Adam x

Hi, I'm Lauren and I have been living with a collection of disabilities for the past 8 years. I initially had a passion for teaching children with special needs, but my health prevented me from pursuring my dream career. Despite this, I now love nothing more than sharing my experiences to help other people living with disabilities.
Hi, I’m Lori and was diagnosed with Ehlers Danlos Syndrome and a family of co-morbid conditions which has made life highly complex. However I constantly aim to make life as ‘normal’ and fulfilling as possible - and through this, I discovered the benefits of writing about my journey.
