Personal Opinion:
Comfyrider leg rests are of such high quality. Just make sure they are compatible with your mobility scooter before purchasing by contacting the company; they are extremely knowledgeable and very happy to help.
Specification:
The design of this product is brilliant. Using a mobility scooter has so many benefits, but one major disadvantage is poor circulation in the lower legs. So having something that keeps your legs raised at a higher angle could be very beneficial to a variety of scooter users, particularly those with blood pooling conditions and sciatica.
Packaging & Delivery:
My parcel arrived really quickly which was brilliant, as I was excited to try them out. Packaged in a small rectangular box filled with lots of bubble wrap to prevent damage during delivery, I was impressed to see each of the parts separately packaged and protected. There was also an instruction leaflet with photos on the front, which acted as a useful point of reference whilst assembling the product.
Installation:
I needed a fair bit of assistance setting this up, but that is at no fault to the product or manufacturing design, and more my lack of DIY skills! Oh and by a fair bit of assistance I mean, I sat on the sofa watching my PA and housemate assemble the product. That being said, we would’ve found it a little easier if the instructions were step by step in laments terms. Thankfully my housemate is a bit of a whiz, so we got there in the end. But something like an easy to follow video tutorial would have been much appreciated!
Using The Item:
After installing the product it was evident one of the parts was too large for my scooter. But after a quick chat with the Comfyrider team, I was sent a new one cut specifically to my scooter that arrived the very next day! You can tell Steve, the owner of this business genuinely cares about his clients journey with his product from start to finish and truly values customer feedback.
For me sadly they weren’t particularly comfortable, but I think this could be down to the fact I have a teeny tiny folding mobility scooter and dodgy joints. However, after a rental scooter with four wheels, I could better experience the benefit of using this product. I would have preferred the pads to be a little wider and with a removable cover; perhaps something similar to a gel bike seat in the summer, as a warm fleece-lined one for the winter. I’m all about comfort!
Conclusion:
Even though this product wasn’t 100% compatible with my mobility scooter, physical needs and comfort levels, I would still recommend it to other scooter users. The concept is innovative and could genuinely improve the lives around the world. In addition to the quality of the product being exceptional and very well made. The customer service was absolutely outstanding, especially when you consider how quickly a bespoke piece can be created.
